ProgressPlatform was originally developed for The University of Manchester. It is a web-based system for recording, monitoring and reporting on postgraduate student progression and skills training activity. The system began development in 2005 to monitor progression and link to skills training of faculty postgraduate research students. The entire postgraduate research community of The University of Manchester are now regular users and staff across the institution, both academic and administrative, can track their students’ progress in a consistent yet flexible manner. Around 9,000 students and staff across a wide range of disciplines are currently engaged with the system.

The University of Manchester has now made ProgressPlatform available commercially so that other institutions may experience the wide range of benefits already realised within Manchester.
